B2S Educator Workshop

July 11, 2022 //  by michele

Sunday, August 14

6:30-8 PM

It’s a new year. New students, new energy, new challenges. Maybe a new room, a new prep, a new curriculum.

Is your heart ready?

Using the tools of movement, metta meditation, and mantra, we’ll dig into the work of teaching and learning from the heart. We’ll connect with the animating energy you want to guide your instruction for the year. While we will utilize gentle movement from a seated or standing position, this is not a flow-centered class. Educators who are less apt to move quickly up and down are still able to join with little to no modifications.

Please bring a class list of your students, a notebook, and a yoga mat if you have one (we offer loaners for those who do not own one.)

Gratitude Challenge

November 1, 2021 //  by michele

Make November a bit more grateful.

For the entire month, we’ll be focusing our attention towards gratitude. I’m a firm believer that gratitude is the gateway to joy. There’s a reason that every major culture of history had practices of dance, celebration, feasts and worship following times of major stress (harvest work, buffalo hunts, and war). Gratitude signals to your body that you’re safe, and you can fully absorb and take it all in and rest (ahem: rest and digest mode).

We’re making it the focal point of teaching and we’re going to reach into places to find gratitude and practice gratitude all month long. Here are the ways to participate:

  • Show up. Even when you don’t “feel” thankful for anything. Gratitude is a practice as much as a feeling. Often the action will lead to the feeling.
  • Name it. Each class we offer will begin or end with a chance for you to write a word, phrase, name, or thing for which you’re grateful for. (We’ll hang these in our window so we can encourage our entire community to be grateful, too.)
  • Re-center. If you’d like a daily text prompt for you to look for gratitude in a variety of places, respond back to this email. (If you’ve not yet attended class, I’ll need your phone number to add you.) You’ll receive a daily text update with gratitude inspiration.
  • Share. Invite others to be grateful for the month, not just on Thanksgiving day.

We hope you’ll join us in recognizing all we have to be grateful for this month!

Slow Flow for Newbies

July 7, 2021 //  by michele

It’s time to start.

Wednesdays | 5:30 PM | Begins August 4

Our one-hour Slow Flow for Newbies class is a 4-week series. You’ll be introduced to the basic poses of yoga and join with other beginners in establishing a movement practice on a mat in a studio. The goal of this series is to help you feel comfortable enough to join in other All-Levels classes.

Fearful you’ll feel like the only one who “doesn’t know what to do”?

Don’t worry. This is a class designed for everyone who doesn’t know what they’re doing yet.

To register, sign up using the fitDegree app/website link. Please bring your yoga mat to class. It’s best to practice barefoot in clothes that allow for easy movement (but fancy yoga pants aren’t necessary.)

$45 includes all 4 weeks.

Galentine’s Day Special Event

January 22, 2021 //  by michele

A favorite event of last year is coming back to Woven Yoga! Galentine’s Day, on February 13, is a chance to celebrate strong women and BFF’s. Inspired by Leslie Knope (Parks & Rec), this party is laden with waffles and mimosas, with a special Woven Yoga flair – a Barre + Yoga fusion session to start.

The event begins at 10:30 AM and will include plenty of time to catch up with your friends. Bring your mat and be ready to move, laugh, and celebrate.

To allow us plenty of space to social distance – and for more ladies to join the fun – we’ll be taking over Viceroy Hall for the morning. Tickets ($35) include barre+yoga, brunch spread and first beverage.

Barre at Woven Yoga

September 25, 2020 //  by michele

Woven Yoga is excited to add Barre classes to the schedule!

Since experiencing barre several years ago, I’ve been hoping to bring it into the studio. My friend Kelsey has been practicing at Pure Barre for years and recently completed her training with Barre Intensity at GoYoga and she’s ready to share this powerful practice.

Barre isn’t a form of yoga, but rather it taps into poses and adds strong movement to smaller muscle groups that often get looked over in traditional workouts like running and biking. For yogis who are regularly lengthening our musculature, a practice such as barre that aims to work those areas will help to keep us safe and strong.

Barre classes run on the same pricing and packaging as yoga and it’s already been added to options for passholders and members – just sign up the way you would normally for a yoga class.

Bring your mat, a small (1-3 pound) set of hand weights and come ready to get sweaty.

Kelsey is offering 3 classes each week:

  • Thursday, 7 PM
  • Friday, 4:30 PM Barre Express (in & out in 30 minutes)
  • Saturday, 10 AM
