Trying new things can be hard. Maybe you think everyone will be watching you and you don’t know what you’re doing. Or perhaps you don’t know what to wear or what to bring.
Whatever makes it hard to sign up for your first yoga class, we want to assure you: we understand. And we are here to help. We want you to give it a try.
- You can wear whatever is comfortable to move in, even while upside down. Many people find layers to be helpful.
- You can bring your own yoga mat or borrow one if you haven’t made that investment yet.
- We strive not to have a “type” – you will see a variety of ages, genders, body shapes, sizes and abilities. Not everyone is thin, flexible, and wearing designer leggings. There’s no need to try to fit in with those stereotypes.

Beginner's Yoga
4 PM Wednesdays
August 28 – September 18 at Woven Yoga
Beginners yoga is a gentle and welcoming introduction to the practice of yoga. It focuses on the foundational poses, breathing techniques, and mindfulness to help build strength, flexibility, and balance into your body and mind. In the beginners class, the instructor often provides modifications and adjustments to support each student’s individual needs and abilities. The emphasis is on moving mindfully, listening to the body, and cultivating a sense of inner peace and relaxation. Beginners yoga is a great way to start your yoga journey and discover the many physical, mental, and emotional benefits of this ancient practice.
