Yoga Classes

All Levels Yoga Flow

Our backbone class has a mix of poses and movements. You can expect a well-rounded flow of postures to address the full body with balanced attention given to both building strength and developing flexibility in muscle groups. The pace of the class is relaxed to moderate, sometimes moving with each inhale and exhale, while other times lingering in poses longer. Each class ends with a long, restorative savasana.

This class is appropriate for anyone, regardless of yoga experience, who can move from the floor to standing within a few movements.

Chair Yoga

A yoga class designed for individuals seeking to find strength and practice balance within a safe and supportive environment. This class is a good fit for individuals who cannot be on the floor, as it stays standing (supported with a chair or wall) or seated in a chair for the duration of the class. It ends with several minutes of upright relaxation.

Using an emphasis on breath, learn how to move about in the world with greater ease by using your inherent strength – at any age.

Slow Flow

An all-levels practice with a slower pace. Unwind from the day with a breath-centered flow of reclined, seated and standing postures. While the pace provides time in each pose, the practice still allows for growth in strength and balance. You can expect core work to develop steadiness in postures. This class uses alternative ways to move through poses, keeping vinyasa (the plank – lower to the ground – chest lift combination) at a minimum.

This class is appropriate for those who prefer or require more time to move into and out of poses, and wish to build stability.

Yin Yoga

Have you ever wanted to “linger longer” in a pose?  Looking for a slower paced counterpart to your workout routine?  Join us for an inquiry into the benefits of Yin Yoga. We will gently stress the connective tissues of our bodies while working to calm the mind and focus on the sensations we uncover when we give ourselves time to find stillness in each pose. Each pose is held 3-5 minutes and the entire class is generally experienced close to the floor with the support of various props.

Newbies Series

This is an introduction and practice of the basic postures and transitions of a fundamentals yoga class. We take a slower pace so that your mind and body can connect the movement without adding the challenge of speed. This series of four classes will build and repeat poses and movements so you feel ready to join an All-Levels or Slow Flow Yoga class.
